BERKELEY, Calif. - University of Nevada sophomore Claudia Herrero saw her first action for the Wolf Pack at the Cal Nike Invitational this weekend and won the consolation championship in the blue singles on Sunday afternoon.

Herrero lost her first match on Friday but won her next four matches which included an injury default to go 4-1 on the weekend. She defeated San Jose State's Marie Klocker in three sets 6-3, 0-6 and 1-0 on Sunday.

Adriana Gergelyova and Herrero lost in the gold doubles finals to Pacific's Saenz DeBuruaga and Yuki Asami 8-7 on Sunday.

Blaga Delic defeated teammate Lea Schneider 6-3, 3-6 and 1-0 in the gold singles consolation semifinals. In the finals Delic lost 6-2, 6-2 to UC Davis' Jessie Lee.

In round robin consolation singles played on Sunday Monika Magusiak downed SJSU's Justine Deleval 6-1, 6-3. Delaney Phanco lost 6-0, 6-7 and 1-0 to Pacific's Anne Nederstigt. Sheila Morales fell 6-2, 6-4 to Santa Barbara's Stefani Stojic. Gergelyova dropped her match to Sacramento State's Deim Bulatovaite 6-1, 6-2.

Two Pack doubles teams earned victories in the consolation round robin doubles on Sunday. Delic and Morales won 8-3 over Cal's Karla Popovi and Klara Fabikova. Schneider and Magusiak defeated Cal's Audrey Mayer and Stephanie Lin 8-3.

The Pack play next week at the All-American Invitational Oct. 8-11 in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
