RENO, Nev. – Austin Gorrell, a 19-year-old freshman catcher for the Nevada baseball team, died overnight, the athletics department announced today.
Gorrell, who had a known previous medical condition, enrolled at Nevada this fall after graduating from John W. North High School in Riverside, Calif., in the spring.
The Wolf Pack athletics department and the baseball program extend their heartfelt condolences to the Gorrell’s family. Grief counselors are available for Nevada students and staff. Information on services will be announced as it becomes available.
