HONOLULU - Junior Krysta Palmer remained perfect on the season, winning her third diving title in as many tries after placing first in the 1-meter springboard at the Hawai'i Diving Invitational. Palmer scored a 317.65 Friday morning at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Center.
The Carson City, Nev., native bested 11 other competitors - including the runner-up by over 30 points - to win her second 1-meter title of the season. Ajie Drew, competing unattached, was second (285.95) while Wisconsin's Ashley Petersen placed third (268.40).
Palmer opened the season by winning the 1 and 3-meter dives with career-high scores against Fresno State, earning Mountain West Diver of the Week honors. Palmer will look to make it four-for-four tomorrow, competing in the platform at 1 p.m. (PT). The Hawai'i Diving Invitational will resume this afternoon with the 3-meter dive.
