Final Stats

Albuquerque, N.M. - The University of Nevada women's tennis team fell to The University of New Mexico Friday afternoon giving the Lobos a 5-1 overall record with their first conference win. The Pack is now 1-2 on the season, with a full day of competition ahead of them tomorrow against North Texas.

In singles action, Sheila Morales was overcome by UNM's Natasha Smith, by a score of 6-4, 6-4. Senior Juliette Legendre dominated in her match against No. 75 ranked Emily Olivier, by a score of 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 7-6 (7-4). Fellow senior, Sheila Smiley ruled the court against Meredith Hopson, by a quick score of 6-4, 6-4. Freshman Blaga Delic had a tough battle and was defeated by Dominique Dulski, by a score of 6-4, 6-4. Rachana Bhat overcame freshman Elisa Pavelea, by a tough score of 6-0, 6-1. In the last singles match of the day, freshman Sara Korzeniecki fought hard, but was defeated by Sharon Coone, by a score of 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles action the Pack dominated two out of the three matches. Duo, Morales and Delic took control on the court defeating UNM's Dulski and Smith, by a score of 6-3. The dominating senior duo, Smiley and Legendre, overcame ranked Olivier and her partner Hopson, by a score of 6-4. Unfortunately, freshman duo Korzeniecki and Pavelea went up against Bhat and Coone, but due to circumstances, the match was unfinished.

The Pack have another day in Albuquerque to redeem themselves, as they play North Texas tomorrow at 9:00am PT.
