• Nevada now holds an 18-8-2 advantage in the series history with San José State ... The Wolf Pack have won six-in-a-row against the Spartans and 11 of the last 12 ... Nevada improves to 3-0 in Mountain West season-opening games ... Head coach Brian Polian also recorded his first career road win at Nevada.
• The Pack trailed 10-7 after the third quarter before scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter to rally to a 21-10 lead ... It marked just the second time in the Brian Polian era that Nevada has won after trailing entering the fourth quarter.
• In the fourth quarter, senior FS Nigel Haikins - a native of nearby Concord, Calif. - returned an interception 27 yards for the Wolf Pack's first defensive TD of the season, giving Nevada a 21-10 lead. It marked Haikins second pick this season and the third of his career. It also marked Nevada's first
touchdown on an interception since Khalid Wooten's 78-yard interception return against Hawai'i in 2012.
• Nevada recorded three takeaways on defense, improving its turnover margin to +6 on the season ... The Pack has recorded a takeaway in every game this season ... In addition to Haikins' pick-six, junior LB Bryan Lane Jr. recovered his first fumble of the season and junior SS Duran Workman recorded his second interception of the year.
• Junior RB Don Jackson eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark for the second time this season with 106 yards on 12 carries ... Jackson averaged 8.8 yards per rush with gains of 16, 17, 18 and 22-yards.
• Senior QB Cody Fajardo scored rushing TDs from 14 yard and two yards out. Fajardo is now tied with Luke Lippincott for seventh in career rushing scores in program history with 34 ... Fajardo was held to just 64 yards through the air, a season-low mark, but the senior ran for 64 yards on 13 carries.
• Junior LB Matthew Lyons recorded Nevada's first double-digit tackle performance of the season with 11 against the Spartans ... Lyons has five career double-digit tackle games.
• On a 14-yard touchdown rush from Fajardo, Nevada opened a 7-0 lead in the second quarter ... Nevada has scored first in all four games this season ... Meanwhile, the Pack defense has allowed a total of just seven points in the first quarter this season ... Nevada has blanked Southern Utah, Washington State and San José State in the first quarter this year.
• Nevada opened the season by scoring on 14 consecutive red zone possessions with 11 TDs and three FGs ... Nevada drove to the SJSU 15-yard line in the third quarter before sophomore kicker Brent Zuzo missed a 37-yard FG attempt, marking the first time Nevada failed to score in the red zone this season.
• The Wolf Pack used the same offensive starters as the Arizona game two weeks ago. On the defensive side, LB Jonathan McNeal, DT Rykeem Yates, CB Evan Favors and SS Duran Workman returned to the starting lineup.
