BERKELEY, Calif. -- The University of Nevada women's tennis team had a successful day of play at the Cal-Nike Invitational, grabbing six victories on day two in Berkeley.

The Pack started with round one of the ITA Saturday Round Robin Singles. Nevada sophomore Sheila Morales started her day off with a hard fought win against Santa Clara's Delphin Rouvillois, by a score of 1-6;6-3;1-0. Freshman Blaga Delic performed well but came short against Gen. McCloskey of USF, by a score of 6-3;6-2. In that same round, freshman Sara Korzeniecki battled long and hard against Kamila Kecki of UC Davis, but fell short by a score of 6-3;5-7;1-0.

In the ITA white doubles consolation quarterfinals, Elissa Pavalea and Sara Korzeniecki were defeated by Jesse Lee and Samantha Martino of UC Davis, by a score of 6-2;6-2. In the semifinals round, duo Clarisse Treand and Monika Magusiak battled back and fourth, defeating Freddie Sleiffer and Kamila Kecki of UC Davis, by the score of 7-6;1-6;1-0.

Freshman Elissa Pavalea performed well in the ITA White singles consolation bracket. She defeated Regina Suarez of Pacific, 6-3, 6-1. In the consolation quarterfinal round, Pavalea could not top Sacramento State's Saskia Angerer, by a score of 6-1;7-6.

Duo Blaga Delic and Sheila Morales dominated in the ITA GOLD doubles quarterfinals. They defeated Julianna Bacelar and Malin Cubucku of Jan Jose State, by a score of 1-6;7-5;1-0. Later that day in their semifinal match, they were defeated by BYU's Nicolette Tran and Savannah Ware, by a score of 6-1;6-4.

Senior duo Juliette Legendre and Sheila Smiley took charge in the ITA GOLD doubles consolation quarterfinals defeating LaniRae Green and Tiffany Pham of UC David, by a score of 6-2;6-4. In their semifinal match, the girls battled back and fourth and defeated the host team Cal's duo Lyann Hoang Stephanie Lin, by a score of 6-7(5;6-4;1-0(9).

In the ITA Gold singles Quarterfinals, seniors Juliette Legendre and Sheila Smiley came out and played hard, but unfortunately came short. Legendre fought hard against No. two seed Cessi Estlander of Cal, with a score of 6-4;6-0, as Smiley went up against No. five seed Layla Sanders of UC Davis.

Day three at the Cal-Nike Invitational continues on Sunday with ITA gold doubles at 9 a.m. with Juliette Legendre and Sheila Smiley up against Emily Gibbens and Sayaka Tsugai of Cal Poly.
