The Wolf Pack cross country team was in action Saturday morning at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on the Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn. The Pack finished 28th out of 35 teams competing in the 6-Kilometer race. Michigan State was the overall winner of the event with 66 points followed by Iowa State with 102 and North Carolina in third with 174 points.
Senior Demerey Kirsch was the first runner across the line for the Pack finishing in 65th place with a time of 22:35. Following Kirsch was junior Emily Myers who crossed the line 77th with a time of 22:47. The third runner to finish for Nevada was junior Erika Root who completed the course in 24:15 to finish 209th. Marissa Suan was the first freshman across the line for Nevada with a time of 24:25 in 230th place, and was followed by junior transfer Anna Preciado who finished in a time of 24:31 in 242nd place. Alaina Anderson was one spot behind her teammate finishing in 243rd place with a time of 24:33. Sophomore Laura Palacios and freshman Meagan Wood finished in 288th and 298th place with time of 25:02 and 25:10 respectively.
"Today was not our best race, but we will come back and run better at conference," Head Coach Kirk Elias said after today's races.
