FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Nevada track and field junior Demerey Kirsch completed her run in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA West Preliminary round Friday evening with a 25th place finish.
Kirsch clocked in with a time of 10:31.36 to place 25th in the field of 44 runners. The top-12 in the field advanced to the NCAA Finals to be held in Eugene, Ore. Baylor junior Rachel Johnson led the field with a time of 9:53.56 and finished as the only runner to clock in under 10 minutes.
Earlier this season, Kirsch ran the sixth-fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase in the Mountain West on April fourth at the Stanford Invite. Her time of 10:28.57 is the second-fastest time in school history.
