Final Stats

SAN DIEGO - The University of Nevada (6-8, 3-5 MW) baseball team lost 10-4 game two of a three-game Mountain West series to San Diego State at Tony Gywnn Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The loss dropped the Wolf Pack to 6-8 on the season and 3-5 in MW play. The Aztecs improved to 10-4 and 3-2 in conference action.

Nevada got solo home runs from shortstop Kyle Hunt and designated hitter Trenton Brooks to grab and led 2-0 after two innings of action. SDSU outscored the pack 10-2 the rest of the way to even the series at one after Nevada won 4-3 on Friday night.

The Aztecs got a bases clearing double from first baseman Andrew Brown in the third inning to move in front 3-2 and never trailed on the way to victory.

Lefty Barry Timko (2-1) lost for the first time this season giving up four runs on five hits in 3.1 innings on the mound. Bubba Derby (2-1) got the win allowing three runs on six hits in five innings of action. Michael Cederoth (5) earned his fifth save of the year.

Six different Pack players had a hit as the team totaled six. Hunt and Brooks were two of four players that drove in a run for Nevada.

Brown (3-for-5,R,4RBI) led SDSU with three hits and four RBI. Six Aztec batters had two or more hits in the game.
