DAVIS, Calif. - The Nevada swimming and diving team remained perfect on the season, defeating UC Davis by a 171.5-126.5 margin Saturday at the Schaal Aquatics Center. The Wolf Pack won 12 events against the Aggies and improved to 5-0, marking its best start since the 2011-12 season. Nevada trailed by 12 points through the first eight events before winning the final eight events to win commandingly.

Junior Yawen Li won three events, bringing her season win total to seven, and junior Krysta Palmer set pool records in both the one-meter and three-meter dives.

"The team kept their spirits high for the entire meet and really nailed their finishes to win many close races," said head coach Abby Steketee. "We've made significant progress since that first intrasquad and are determined to keep improving."

Li set a season-best time to win the 1,000-yard freestyle relay (10:08.10) before winning the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.76) and the 200-yard IM (2:04.71). Palmer, a native of Carson City, set career-best marks in both dives for a second straight week. Palmer earned 350.25 points in the one-meter competition and 375.9 points in the three-meter competition, winning both by wide margins.

The Wolf Pack dropped nearly 11 seconds from its last 400-yard freestyle relay time to defeat the Aggies in the final event and seel a victory. Kusserow, Eriksen, Baerens and Li set a season-best time of 3:26.53 in the event.

Nevada will be in action next after the new year, hosting its first home meet on Jan.2-3 at Lombardi Pool. The Wolf Pack hosts Cal State East Bay for a two-day meet with all relay events being held on Jan 2nd.
