Results Get Acrobat Reader

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The 14th ranked University of Nevada rifle team finished third at the four-team Buckeye Invitational hosted by Ohio State over the past two weekends. All four teams that competed appear in the latest Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association top 20.

Sixth ranked TCU shot 4672 to win the event. Ohio State currently ranked 11th was second with a 4654 and Nevada shot 4610. Morehead State's 4584 placed them fourth.

Nevada shot 2330 in air rifle and placed four competitors in the top 15. Stephanie Cooksey shot 587 to finish fourth and Emily Capaul's 583 was 10th. Sarah Jameson and Greta Ochsner both shot 580 to finish 13th and 14th respectively. Ties are broken by the number of more perfect 10's.

In smallbore the Pack shot 2280 and had two members of the team place in the top 15. Jameson's 575 was eighth and Ochsner's 573 was good for 12th.

Nevada returns to action on Saturday hosting the Sutter Rifle Club for an exhibition contest. The competition will be air rifle only starting at 8 a.m.
