RENO, Nev. - In the first match of the season the 17th ranked University of Nevada rifle team defeated #20 UTEP 4603-4580. The victory was also a Patriot Rifle Conference win for the Wolf Pack.

The Pack won the smallbore 2288-2248 behind junior Greta Ochsner's 576. Freshman Sarah Jameson shot 573 followed by another freshman Stephanie Cooksey who totaled 570. UTEP's Amy Bock and Rachel Schoenrock posted the top score in the event at 580.

The Miners won the air rifle by a score of 2332-2248. Jasmine Juarez posted a score of 584 to win the event for UTEP. Ochsner once again posted the top score for the Pack at 583. Lauren Zerkovich was second with a score of 579. All five Pack shooters had scores of 575 or better.

Nevada travels to El Paso, Texas this weekend for three PRC matches. Saturday the Pack will compete against UTEP and Ohio State. Sunday's match is against Ohio State.
