RENO, Nev. - The Nevada women's golf team is heading to Las Vegas, Nev. to play in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, hosted by UNLV.
The 54-hole tournament will begin on Sunday at the 6,230 yard, par-72 Boulder Creek Golf Club. The team will play 18-holes a day, with the final 18-hole round coming on Tuesday.
"Our team is really excited to compete," said head coach Kathleen Takaishi. "Boulder Creek Golf Course is a course that fits our style of play."
Nevada has had success at this tournament. Last year Nevada finished tied for 12th, with Simpson finishing tied for 13th and Prichard finishing tied for 26th.
This is not a Governors Series event, so no points can be gained by either Nevada or UNLV.
The field of teams include Colorado State, Fresno State, No. 27 Gonzaga, Idaho, Indiana, Long Beach State, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico State, North Texas, No. 24 San Diego State, San Francisco, No. 42 San Jose State, Tulsa, UC Riverside, No. 14 UNLV, and Washington State.
