SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Junior Emily Myers and senior Demerey Kirsch each shattered the Nevada 6K school record during Saturday's Bronco Invitational hosted by Santa Clara University, leading the Wolf Pack cross country team to a top-10 finish.

"We ran great and our number one and two spots posted times under the old school record," head cross country coach Kirk Elias said. "We're still a bit weak at 3, 4, and 5 but we've got a couple of weeks to pull that together."

Nevada collected a 10th place finish in the 21-team field with a total of 296 points. Oklahoma State took home the team title, compiling 82 points and besting second-place Cal Poly by 10 points. Idaho State finished third, British Columbia recorded fourth place and Sacramento State rounded out the top-five. Mountain West foe Utah State garnered sixth place while Utah Valley took home seventh. Chico State and San Diego finished as the only other schools in the field to best the Pack, placing in eighth and ninth, respectively.

Myers ranked as the highest Wolf Pack runner in the field of 172, posting seventh place on the individual leaderboard with a school-record time of 20:33.3 on the 6K course. The previous record had been held by Kirsch at 21:04. With a 10th place individual finish on Saturday clocking in at 20:44.7, Kirsch also bested the previous school record that she had set last season.

Behind Myers and Kirsch, freshman Alaina Anderson was the third-highest Pack runner in the field, placing 85th with a personal record time of 22:01.5. Redshirt junior Anne Underwood came across the line at 22:34.5 to post a 124th place finish. Shortly after her was junior Erika Root who took home 127th place with a time of 22:36.4. Her sister, Sidney Root, ran at a 23:18.7 pace to claim 145th place. Freshman Sophia Blair grabbed 151st place with a time of 23:27.8 and redshirt freshman Summer Leimberger rounded out the list of Wolf Pack runners with a 26:04.5, good for 170th place.

Monika Juodeskaite of Oklahoma State captured the individual title after she paced the field at 20:01.

Nevada will have a weekend off from competition before gearing up for the Mountain West Championships that will take place on Oct. 31 at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif.
