Final Stats
RENO, Nev. - Winning its second match in as many days, the University of Nevada women's tennis team defeated Pacific 6-1 on Saturday at Caughlin Club.
Nevada improved to 5-8 (0-1 WAC), while Pacific fell to 4-12 (1-4 Big West).
The Pack's top doubles team over the past two weeks, Michelle Okhremchuk and Emma Verberne, won their third straight match at the No. 1 doubles position. They defeated Iveta Masarova and Julia Hansen 8-1 on Saturday. Nevada won two of the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.
Continuing its dominance of the Tigers, the Pack won five of the six singles matches played.
The first four matches went Nevada's way, including Sophie Steven's fourth-straight win at the third position. She defeated Gergana Boncheva in straight sets, winning 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
At six, the Pack rounded out the victory with Rymma Maslova's 6-4, 6-3 victory over Regina Suarez.
Nevada will take on Idaho in its next match, traveling to meet the Vandals in Moscow on April 13.
