WHAT'S HAPPENING
The University of Nevada track and field team will head to Sacramento Calif. to participate in the Hornet Invitational Saturday on the campus of Sacramento State.
The Hornet Invitational will feature 18 teams from throughout the west. Among the field will be competitors from Sacramento State, UC Davis, Fresno State and Cal. There will also be several NCAA Div. II, NAIA and junior college institutions.
RECAP OF LAST MEET
The invitational will be the second meet of the outdoor season for the team. Nevada opened up the outdoor season last weekend at the Aggie Open at UC Davis. Junior Deborah Amoah recorded a leap of 40 feet, 11 inches (12.47 meters) in the triple jump to place second. Freshman Kashae Knox had a strong outing in the 100m, clocking in a personal best of 12.02. Sarah Nichols just missed her personal best mark in the Javelin throw, recording a 145'02" to finish second.

"The team put together some good marks in our outdoor season opener," head coach Shantel Twiggs said. "They are ready to get back out there and try to improve on those marks ."
