OGDEN, Utah - The University of Nevada women's tennis team earned its first win of 2012 in dominating fashion Sunday, sweeping the Weber State Wildcats 7-0.
With the win, Nevada improved to 1-2. Weber State fell to 0-7.
The Wolf Pack opened the day's action by taking each of the three doubles matches contested. The most impressive doubles victory came from the team of Sophie Stevens and Gabriela Eufrasio. The pair lost only one game in their victory at the No. 3 doubles position, picking up their second win of the weekend in the process.
Two doubles teams and four Nevada players won their first singles match of the year Sunday, making the win a true team effort.
Michelle Okhremchuk and Rymma Maslova both won their second singles match of the year Sunday.
Okhremchuk rolled over Brittany Moore 6-3, 6-3, while Maslova defeated Nittaya Phonharath 6-3, 6-4. Juliette Legendre also had an impressive singles win. She took out Michelle Warwick in the third singles spot, dropping only one game in a 6-0, 6-1 blitzing.
Nevada will return to the court on Saturday, February 18, taking on Seattle University at 1 p.m.
