Final Stats
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The University of Nevada women's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 52 Utah Friday, opening its 2012 dual season with a loss.
The Wolf Pack fell to 0-1, while Utah improved to 1-2.
The closest matches of the day came at the first and sixth singles positions, where Nevada competed with the Utes to the end.
After dropping the doubles point, the Pack came out strong early at singles position No. 1. Michelle Okhremchuk took the first set from No.90 Anastasia Putilina, winning 7-6 (7-2). She was unable to secure the win however, as Putilina won sets two and three 6-0 and 6-3, respectively.
In the sixth position, newcomer Rymma Maslova took her opening set as well, defeating Natasha Smith 6-0. Emma Verberne, playing at the second singles spot, also won a set in her match. She beat Sarah Pham 6-3 in set two.
Nevada will return to the court against BYU Saturday at 11 a.m.
