The No. 9 University of Nevada rifle team finished eighth in the season opening Ole Miss Invitational this past weekend in Oxford, Miss.
TCU won the invitational with a school record aggregate score of 4,707 points, while Nevada finished with a score of 4,567.
"We didn't shoot well during the event and have a lot of room for improvement," head coach Fred Harvey said. "We are looking forward to our next match where we will look to improve our results."
Chelsie Hata led Nevada in the air rifle event for with 585 points and also led the team in the small bore event with 572 points. This week, the Wolf Pack will travel to Jacksonville, Ala., for a match at Jacksonville State on Saturday Oct. 13.
