RENO, Nev. -- The University of Nevada Athletics Department is continuing its partnership with the Reno Rodeo at this year's event.

As part of the partnership that started last year, Nevada Athletics will have a presence every night at the rodeo, which runs until June 25 at the Livestock Events Center in Reno.

The University of Nevada's cheerleaders and mascots, Alphie and Wolfie Jr., will make nightly appearances, including participating in the mutton busting events and in the barrel truck. Nevada cheerleaders and mascots will also ride on the Kid's Day float in Saturday's parade at 10 a.m. and participate in the Reno Rodeo Kid's Day activities that afternoon.

In addition, Wolf Pack coaches, cheerleaders and staff will be on hand nightly to meet fans at a booth at the main entrance.

This fall, the Reno Rodeo Foundation will be at Wolf Pack football games this fall to raise awareness about the organization's highly successful annual Denim Drive that provides clothing, socks and underwear for children and teens who have been rescued from abusive homes.

"This is our second year of our partnership with the Reno Rodeo and the Reno Rodeo Foundation, and we are so pleased to continue to work with them as one of our community partners," Nevada Director of Athletics Cary Groth said. "The Reno Rodeo is truly one of the best events in Northern Nevada, and it has done so much good for the charities in our community. We are delighted to be able to partner with the Reno Rodeo throughout the year."

The Reno Rodeo is a non-profit organization made up over 400 volunteers. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Reno Rodeo Foundation, which has donated over $5.1 million to educational scholarships, special children's charities, high school rodeo programs, literacy programs, Marvin Picollo School Therapeutic Equestrian program and the Kids Kampus Activity Center located at the Kids Kottage.

Tickets are available at www.renorodeo.com or call 1-800-225-2277. Tickets range in price from $12 - $27 based on seating and performance date. The Reno Livestock Events Center is located at 1350 N. Wells Ave., Reno, Nev.
