CHINA - University of Nevada guard Malik Story and forward Devonte Elliott scored 10 and eight points respectively to help Reach USA to an 89-88 victory over Lithuania Atletas on Monday night in QiJiang, China .
Vic Oladipo, Indiana University, hit a three pointer from the left corner with 2.2 seconds in the game to give Reach USA the victory. Trailing by one, Lithuania hit a three pointer with 20 seconds to go in the game to set the stage for the Hooiser heroics. Justin Bocot, Southern Illinois University., drove the lane and passed on a tie opportunity to pass to the corner for the game winner by Oladipo.
Reach USA trailed most of the game, by nine at half, and by as many as twelve. They overcame a lethargic first half to hang close enough to have a chance in the game. After playing to one tie, Coach Gary Forrest said, "We are not playing for another tie.!"
Keith Clanton, UCF, again led the team in scoring with 16 followed by Eloy Varga, Kentucky, with 13, and fellow SEC player, Marcus Thornton of Georgia, with 11. Clanton also led the rebounding column with 10 and Oladipo pulled down eight.
The squad takes a 3-1-1 record to Shuangojiao for the sixth game in this seven game tour with Lithuania. Following this seven game run, the team will play a team from Brazil twice.
