RENO, NEV. - Jeremy Cole (3-3, 2.81 ERA) threw his first complete game of the season in game one of today's doubleheader as the Nevada Wolf Pack (12-20, 2-3 WAC) defeated the New Mexico State Aggies (27-11, 5-5 WAC) 4-0.
Cole held the Aggies to just three hits over seven solid innings, while striking out one hitter and walking one. Cole faced just 27 batters and threw 97 pitches in the one hour and 25 minute contest.
The Pack scored one run in the first when Brock Stassi (2-for-3, RBI) drove in Joe Kohan (1-for-4, R) who doubled earlier in the inning. Nevada added two more in the third on a bases-loaded double by Nick Melino (2-for-3, 3 RBI) and one more run on a solo shot by Melino in the sixth.
Melino entered yesterday's game in an 0-32 slump, but has three hits and six RBI in the last two games.
Troy Marks (0-3, 4.28 ERA) will pitch game two for the Pack in search of his first victory of the season.
