RENO, Nev. - Nevada diver Grace Huang recorded a score of 459.55 to finish seventh on the platform on the final day of the Zone E Diving Championships held at the Minnesota Aquatics Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota. This is Huang's highest finish of the meet, having claimed ninth on the 3-meter (560.40) and 1-meter (516.70) in the first two days of competition.
Huang, a three-time WAC Diver of the Week, has competed on the platform just twice this season, finishing second at the Western Athletic Conference Championships (219.60) and 11th at the Wildcat Diving Invitational (203.35).
Teammate Stephanie Hansen posted a score of 189.20 in the preliminary round, narrowly missing the championship round. Hansen did not advance beyond the preliminary round during the championship meet, finishing 20th on the 3-meter (256.45) and 47th on the 1-meter (190.65) in the first two days of competition.
During the three day meet, Huang and Hansen competed against athletes from 20 universities, including No. 1 Stanford, No. 4 Cal, No. 6 Southern California, No. 7 Arizona, No. 21 UCLA, No. 24 San Diego State and No. 25 Arizona State.
