Box Score RENO, NEV. - Mark Joukoff earned his first win of the season as the University of Nevada baseball team (4-9) defeated the Pacific Tigers (3-11) 9-4 to complete their first series sweep of the season.

Joukoff retired the first eight hitters he faced before giving up a bunt single to Pacific right fielder Josh Simms with two outs in the third inning. Joukoff lasted six innings for the third consecutive start, giving up only three runs and six hits while striking out two.

The Wolf Pack used a big second inning to get an early lead, scoring four runs on four hits in the frame.

Nick Melino singled to lead off the second and was followed by a walk by Brian Barnett. Garrett Yrigoyen singled to score Melino and move Barnett to third, and Barnett and Yrigoyen scored on a double by designated hitter Hugo Hernandez. Hernandez scored the fourth run of the inning on a Jamison Rowe double that popped off third base into left field before Joe Kohan lined out to left field to end the inning.

The Pack added a run in the fifth on an RBI single from Hernandez and four runs on two hits and two walks in the eighth.

Troy Marks gave up one run (zero earned) in three innings of work to earn his first save of the year.

The Wolf Pack heads to Moraga, Calif. this Tuesday to take on Saint Mary's, before traveling to Santa Barbara for three games against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos next weekend.
