RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada rifle team will travel to El Paso, Texas to compete in the 2011 NCAA Championship Qualifying Tournament Saturday.
Head coach Fred Harvey will take six student-athletes, including Winter Air Gun Championship Junior Division winner Dempster Christenson, to attempt to qualify for the NCAA Championships Friday, March 11 in Columbus, GA.
"They have the opportunity to qualify both as a team and individually," Harvey said. "Their prospects are good."
The Wolf Pack went 5-1 in dual matches in the Fall and finished second in both of the tournaments they entered.
