Box Score RENO, Nev. -The University of Nevada women's basketball team dropped a 79-73 decision to Utah State on Thursday at Lawlor Events Center in front of 780 fans. Nevada dropped to 14-7 (3-5 WAC) while Utah State improves to 11-10 (5-3).
Nevada shot 41.5 percent for the game on 14-36 shooting with seven three-pointers and hit 12-16 from the charity stripe. The Wolf Pack had 22 assists with four blocks and 16 steals. The Aggies out-rebounded Nevada 40-36.
Three Wolf Pack players scored in double figures. Senior Tahnee Robinson led all scorers for the 13th time this season with 22 points with five three pointers. Junior Kayla Williams scored a career high 21 points with eight rebounds, hitting 7-11 from the field and 7-8 free throws.
Shavon Moore scored 14 points, but had a strong defensive night with eight rebounds and a career high nine steals. Also tying a career-high with seven assists was senior Nicole Williams who also scored four points.
Nevada will return to the road and play its fourth game in eight games traveling to San Jose State at 7 p.m. Saturday. The Wolf Pack holds a 17-19 overall record against the Spartans after winning nine straight over the last six seasons.
