SAN ANTONIO - The University of Nevada swimming and diving team (3-7) moved into sixth place with 198 points after day three of the Western Athletic Conference Championships held at the Palo Alto Natatorium on the campus of Palo Alto College in San Antonio, Texas. 

Boise State continues to lead all teams after day three with 585 points, while Hawai'i is in second with 404 points.  Nevada leads Fresno State (170 points) and Idaho (146 points), but trails New Mexico State who's in fifth with 293 points. 

The Wolf Pack swimmers and divers had their best day of the meet so far, recording five top-10 finishes.  Mengjiao Mi claimed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.64.  Teammate Andrea Kostecki's time of 1:49.23 earned her ninth in the event.  

The 400-yard individual medley was another strong event for Nevada, with Chavisa Thaveesupsoonthorn finishing seventh (4:26.36) and Gabby Guieb finishing ninth (4:24.02). 

Marichi Gandionco took 11th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.57.  Kayla Mariani posted a time of 58.47 to finish 14th in the 100-yard backstroke. 

Divers Grace Huang and Melyssa Charlton each managed a top-15 finish on the 3-meter.  Huang's score of 309.60 earned her second in the event, while Charlton's score of 232.90 earned her 12th place. 

The championship meet will conclude tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 26, with preliminaries starting at 9 a.m. followed by finals at 4:30 p.m.  Fans will be able to purchase an online streaming package for $5.95 in order to watch finals events live.  Fans can also follow live meet results online at wacsports.com.
