Day Two Results Get Acrobat Reader

FRESNO, Calif. - The University of Nevada women's tennis team won six matches at the Bulldog Classic Saturday, after winning eight matches on Friday.

In the main A singles draw, Emma Verberne made an appearance in the quarterfinals with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Julija Lukac of Washington. She fell to Verena Preikschas of CSU Stanislaus 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinals.

Sophie Stevens and Michelle Okhremchuk each fell in their quarterfinal matches in the same flight. After moving into the consolation A draw, Okhremchuk won twice and will play Erica Medlin of San Jose State Sunday in the semifinals.

In the doubles A flight, two Nevada teams continued their strong play and will be on opposite sides of the semifinal draw Sunday. Verberne and Juliette Legendre will meet Preikschas and Katie Eng of CSUS for a spot in the finals, while Okhremchuk and Faith Bassiouny will meet Laura Pola and Olga Kirpicheva of Fresno State for the same opportunity.

Legendre also moved into the quarterfinals of the singles B draw before falling to Bianca Modoc of Fresno State 6-2, 6-2.

Tomorrow will be the final day of tournament play for the Wolf Pack this Fall.
