RUSTON, La.  - The University of Nevada women's basketball team picked up its second consecutive loss of the season when it fell 67-43 at Louisiana Tech on Saturday at the Thomas Assembly Center in front of 2,249 fans.  It's the first consecutive losses of the season for Nevada, which fell to 13-5 (2-3 WAC) on the season while LA Tech improves to 13-5 (5-0 WAC).

Nevada struggled to keep pace with the WAC-leading Lady Techsters from the start of the game.  After the Wolf Pack scored the first two buckets of the game, LA Tech ran through the first half, outscoring the Pack 31-15 to take a 31-19 lead into the intermission.  The second half was much of the same as the hosting Lady Techsters continued building they're lead until they got up to 25, the biggest of the game with 2:42 to play.

Nevada saw some new faces putting up serious minutes because of early foul troubles by the starting post players Shavon Moore and Kayla Williams, both who would foul out in the second half.  The Wolf Pack was led by senior Tahnee Robinson who scored 14 off 5-12 shooting and 4-5 free throws.  Williams scored 10 and both players grabbed five rebounds each.

The saving grace for the Pack was its rebounding, where Nevada had a 43-33 advantage.  The Pack shot 36.2 percent from the field, hitting one three and going 8-12 from the charity stripe.  While Nevada pounded the glass, the Pack's post players were beat in scoring from the paint 40-28.  The biggest struggle came from the 27 points the Lady Techsters scored off Nevada's 28 turnovers.  LA Tech had three players score in double-figures led by Adrienne Jonson with 26.

It doesn't get any easier for the Wolf Pack as it will return home for another week of preparation for the WAC's No. 2 team in Fresno State.  The Pack will face the Bulldogs on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center.  This weekend's game is celebrating Girls and Women in Sports day with a special all-sports clinic for local area youth to mix and mingle with representatives from all of Nevada's teams.  The special events will begin at 11 a.m.

Any community organization that would like to be involved should contact Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions Darron Pinkney at (775) 682-6963 before Wednesday, January 26. Fans who wish to attend the activities prior to the game itself must also RSVP to Pinkney by Jan. 26.
