HONOLULU, Hawaii-The University of Nevada (23-17-1, 4-6-1 WAC) wasted an excellent pitching performance from junior right-hander Jeremy Cole falling 1-0 in the second game of a Western Athletic Conference doubleheader at Les Murakami Stadium Saturday night.  UH swept the doubleheader after winning game one 10-9.  The Wolf Pack are now 23-17-1 and 4-6-1 in WAC play while the Rainbows improved to 23-21 and 6-9 in conference action.

The only run of the game came in the bottom of the second inning when UH shortstop Greg Garcia walked to start the inning.  With one down Garcia moved to second base on a ground out.  First baseman Kevin Macdonald's two-out single to right field scored Garcia with the lone run of the game.

Nevada's best opportunity to score came in the top of the seventh when first baseman Shaun Kort doubled and designated hitter Nick Melino followed with a single.  A ground out by right fielder Brian Barnett moved Melino to second base and second baseman Cullen Mahoney then walked to load the bases.  Third baseman Garrett Yrigoyen was retired on a pop up to first base and left fielder Waylen Sing Chow struck out to end the game.

Cole (3-1) allowed the one run on three hits in six innings on the mound.  Matt Sisto (4-4) earned the win pitching 5.1 shutout innings.  Connor Little (1) recorded the save retiring the only two hitters he faced.

Melino (2-for-3) had two of the Pack's four hits in the game.  Three different UH batters collected a hit in the game with Macdonald driving home the only run of the night.

The two teams will play the final game of the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. HT.
