BERKELEY, Calif. - Gina Deckard won the 100m hurdles on the final day of the Brutus Hamilton Invite Saturday hosted by Cal in Berkeley, Calif. 

Deckard finished first in the 100m hurdles with a PR time of 13.92.  Deckard beat her previous PR of 13.98 set earlier this year.  Her time of 13.92 is the fifth-best 100m hurdles time in program history.    

Samantha Diaz finished first in her section and fourth overall in the 1500m run with a time of 4:33.97.  The time is a PR for Diaz and is the ninth-best 1500m run in program history. 

Overall, this was a solid weekend," head coach Shantel Twiggs said.  "We are starting to put things together.  It has been fun watching the athletes perform well and get some solid mark for the WAC list, national list and the Nevada top 10."

In the high jump, the Pack had two student-athletes post top-10 finishes.  La Tijera Avery tied for fourth overall with a jump of 1.73m (5-08.00), tying her high jump PR.  Cortney Beasley finished in a tie for sixth with a mark of 1.68m (5-06.00).

Marissa Hammond, who just finished her junior season with the Nevada women's basketball team, took fifth in the javelin 42.10m (138-01).  This meet was Hammond's first track competition of the year.

Jaleesa Jeffery took eighth in the shot put with a mark of 12.19m (40-00.00).

Olivia Morgan finished 13th in the 100m dash with a time of 12.54.

Up next for Nevada is the Payton Jordan Invite on May 1 in Palo Alto, Calif.  The meet will mark Nevada's last meet before the 2010 WAC Outdoor Championships in Ruston, La., May 12-15.
