Softball Insider: Danielle Patrick

The Wolf Pack softball team will be fun to watch this year because: The team is full of amazing softball players that love the sport and love being on the field.

For me to improve as a player I need to: Work on consistency. Making sure that I field every ball that is hit to me and have good at bats evert time I am at the plate.

My favorite pre-game ritual is: Putting my eye black on and smearing it down the side of my face... It pumps me up.

My teammates would best describe me as: Dori from finding nemo.  I tend to forget alot of things.

The best place on campus is: The Joe.  Our Student Union has a ton of places to study and a variety of places to eat.

What I like most about my hometown is: That I live about twenty five minutes away from the beach.  The beach is my favorite place to go.

Favorite thing about being at Nevada is: Is the people and the snow.

If I wasn't playing college softball I would be: At an art school or dermontology school.  I love drawing and for some reason I am interested in skin and how it works.

A place I've never been but would love to visit: the Fiji Islands.

One moment in history I wish I could have seen: Would be the Holocaust.  I think the Holocaust is a very interesting yet terrible thing that happened in history and if I could have been at the concentration camps to see what it was like all my questions would be answered.

Favorite class: My favortie class so far was Social Work 220.  I am a social work major and learning about social work as much as I can excites me.

Favorite food: Beef brisket sandwiches and barbecue sauce. FYI - The best place to eat barbecue is in Truckee, Calif., and it's called Smokeys, on Donner Lake Road.

Least favorite food: I can't stand mushrooms or mayonaise.

Favorite color: Pink and black.  I love wearing black shirts.

Favorite movie: Ace Ventura, When Nature Calls.  I know every line, and Somethings Gotta Give.

Favorite actor: Jack Nicholson.

Favorite actress: I have two, Eva Mendes and Sandra Bullock

Favorite TV show: Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime.

Most prized possession: I wouldn't say my dog is exactly a possession but I own him and he makes me smile everyday.

Where I want to be 10 years from now: I would like to be married and have job

If I could add one team to the schedule it would be: Cal State Fullerton or UCLA.  I have friends on Cal State Fullerton, and I want to seek revenge on UCLA for beating us in the regional.

Favorite singer or group: I love all kinds of music so I have a ton of favorite singers and groups.

I wear my number because: It is double my old number.  I use to wear the number ten in travel ball.  In highschool I wore ten so I figured twenty is double and I have worn it before.

Favorite song:  Right now I really like me walk-out song which is "Turn My Swag On" by Soulja Boy

Favorite junk food: Beef jerky.

Most impressive person you know: My dad. He can fix anything, and he knows anything end everything. When I have a problem I call him.

Person you would most like to trade places with for a day: I would love to switch places with my dog and sleep all day.

Person who has most influenced your athletic career:  My mom and dad.  They both cheered for me and pushed me to get better and work harder everyday.

The best advice you have ever been given: Never give up, and fight for what you believe in.

Why did you choose to attend Nevada: I choose  Nevada because I really like the way Coach Gardener coached on the field and the brick buildings on campus.

The best book I have ever read: I have two and they were Chill Factor and The Crush by sandra Brown.

Something people would be surprised to know about me: That I am deathly afraid of birds.

If I could have dinner with any two people in history it would be: Abraham Lincoln, and Queen Elizabeth VIII.

My greatest athletic accomplishment to date is: Winning an 18u gold national championship.

If I won $1 million I would: Buy a house in Tahoe.

A friend from another college softball team is: Jennifer Klinkert at the University Of Houston.

The athlete I admire most: Keri Walsch.

My favorite sport other than softball is: Volleyball.

If you could have any car, what would it be:  An Audi A6.

My advice to kids is: Never give up on your dreams.

What is the most played song in your music library: Kenny G "songbird" -- I like to listen to him him when I go to sleep.

What was your favorite childhood toy:  Batman action figures.

My biggest fan: My mom and Dad.

Individual goals for the season: Be consistent.

Biggest pet peeve: People that steel things.

If I could be on a reality TV show it would be: Kendra on the E! CHANNEL.

Extreme sport I would like to try: Rock Climbing.

If stranded on a deserted island, three things I would take with me:  Water, Beef Jerkey, and my family.
