RENO, Nev. – The 2010 Nevada football season promises to be one of the most exciting in history as the Wolf Pack returns 15 starters and will play seven home games at Mackay Stadium. Wolf Pack fans can get a sneak preview of the 2010 Nevada football team this Saturday as the school hosts the Silver and Blue game, featuring a FanFest event packed with entertainment for all ages.

The annual spring game will have a new gameday feel to it as the Wolf Pack will split into two teams and play four quarters of action-packed football.
The entire event, which runs from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., is free.

The schedule of events begins at 9:30 a.m. -- although tailgating in the North Lot is permitted earlier that day -- as the Wolf Pack band will begin playing at Mackay Stadium. Following a presentation of the colors, the playing of the national anthem and team introductions, the Silver and Blue Game will begin at 10 a.m.

The game is scheduled to run until noon with a game-type atmosphere -- performances by the cheer and dance teams, firing of the cannon by the ROTC after each score, music and public address. After the game, fans are welcome to join the team on the field for autographs and picture opportunities. The Fremont Cannon will also be on display.

Following the game, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt on the field for children. After that, a rib-eating contest – The Battle of the Boneyard – between the Wolf Pack offense and defense will take place. Head coach Chris Ault will speak to the crowd after the contest.

The players and coaches will be available for autographs and pictures until 2 p.m.

Throughout the day, there will plenty of events and activities for the entire family, including:

  • Bounce houses (near the Wolf Pack locker room).
  • Coloring contests for children.
  • Free food, provided by Bully’s, Carolina Kitchen BBQ, Carson City BBQ and Men Wielding Fire BBQ, will include hot dogs, ribs, salad and potato salad, along with free Pepsi products.
