BERKELEY, Calif. - Jennifer Boswell is in second place in the heptathlon (section B) at the Cal Mulits held at Edwards Stadium.  Boswell, who has 2,404 points after day one of the two-day competition, is one of three Nevada student-athletes in the top-10.

"Although the day didn't quite unfold as we wanted, the athletes came out and competed well, are healthy and we are excited for day two," said assistant coach Cody Fleming, who is with the team at Cal.

Alexa Anderson is in fourth with 2,315 points followed by Katelyn Choukalos in fifth with 2,292 points.  Danielle Stallworth is in seventh in the 12-woman field with 2,056 points.

"Jenny and Alexa are off to a great start.  They had the opportunity to compete in the UC Multi in 2009 and they are anywhere between 188 points to 418 points ahead of their day one total at the UC Multi last year - that is showing lots of progress," head coach Shantel Twiggs said.   "Our goal is to bring excitement and energy into day two and try to have the best day we can.  This will set them up well for the rest of the season.  Katey and Danielle are new to the event so they are learning with leaps and bounds.  We are hoping they can build momentum from this first multi and pull things together over the course of the season.  The UC Multi has been a great meet as we develop our heptathletes and it is always a great meet to compete at and get you feet wet."

Nevada will conclude competition at the Cal Multis tomorrow.
