EUGENE, Ore. - The University of Nevada (10-10) baseball team lost its fourth game in a row to the University of Oregon (16-6) 5-0 on Sunday at PK Park. The loss leaves the Wolf Pack 10-10 on the season while the Ducks improved to 16-6.
Oregon scored a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 2-0 advantage on the Wolf Pack. Catcher Eddie Rodriguez' single scored both Duck runs. In the bottom of the seventh inning UO got a sacrifice fly from shortstop KC Serna to make the score 3-0. The Ducks added two more insurance runs in the eighth inning to make the final score 5-0.
Pack starter Chris Garcia (1-1) was tagged with the loss allowing two unearned runs in his one inning on the mound. Alex Keudell (4-1) won his fourth game of the season for the Ducks allowing just four hits and struck out nine in seven innings. Joey Housey (1) earned his first save of the season pitching 1.1 innings of shutout relief.
Center fielder Westley Moss (2-for-3) had two of the Pack's four hits in the game. Rodriguez (2-for-3,2RBI) had two hits for the Ducks and two RBI.
Nevada returns home to host UC Irvine for a three-game series at Peccole Park starting Friday at 2:00 p.m. The UCI series marks the start of an eight-game home stand for the Wolf Pack.
