Week six of the 2010 softball season takes the Nevada Wolf Pack over the hill to Sacramento for the annual Capital Classic, hosted by Sacramento State ... Nevada will take on Colorado State and Iona twice each at the tournament ... Nevada is riding a season-high four-game winning streak ... The Wolf Pack is 10-11 on the year ... The Wolf Pack is coming off a sweep of Weber State at Hixson Park over the weekend ... Wolf Pack junior Noelle Micka is riding a team-high 13-game hitting streak ... Nevada needs just one more victory to give Nevada coach Matt Meuchel his 50th victory of his career (second season) ... The Wolf Pack is picked to finish second in this year’s Western Athletic Conference race ... Nevada had three players on the Preseason All-WAC first team in Katie Holverson, Sam Bias and Noelle Micka ... Holverson, last year’s WAC Pitcher of the Year, is on the initial watch list for the USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Award ... The Wolf Pack returns five position-player starters and both pitchers from last year ... This is the second season under head coach Matt Meuchel ... Last year, the Wolf Pack went 40-19 in 2009 and won the WAC Championship with a 15-5 mark ... Nevada concluded the 2009 season at the NCAA Regional in Palo Alto, Calif.
ABOUT THIS WEEK
Nevada will play four games this week, twice each against Colorado State and Iona ... The Wolf Pack will take on Colorado State on Friday before facing Iona and then CSU again on Saturday and concluding play with a single game Sunday against the Rams ... Colorado State enters this weekend 17-8 overall and the Rams are led at the plate by Rebecca Penland (.415, two HRs, 24 RBI) and Kelli Eubanks (13-5, 3.76 ERA) in the circle ... Iona (4-10) is led by Eileen McCann at .406 with five home runs and 16 RBI while Sarah Jackson is 2-4 with a 4.86 ERA.

There are multiple ways to follow Wolf Pack softball this year. Every game (home and away) is scheduled to have an audio broadcast live on www.nevadawolfpack.com, technology permitting. For home games, a video streaming product is planned this season with audio for select games. For more information, visit NevadaWolfPack.com and select the “Multimedia” tab.
In addition, Live Stats will be available on the Website with game and season updates available on Facebook (Facebook.com/NevadaWolfPack) and Twitter (Twitter.com/NevadaWolfPack).
Last year, Wolf Pack radio debuted on the radio in Northern Nevada and a select number of games will again be broadcast this year. Seven games have already aired with the next scheduled broadcasts coming in April – the Pack’s series at New Mexico State. Nevada’s games in the WAC Tournament and any postseason games will also be carried.
