DAVIS, Calif. - Contiuning the sucess she had in the hurdles during the indoor season, Gina Deckard finished first in the 100m hurdles at the Aggie Open Saturday in Davis, Calif., with a time of 13.98 to open the 2010 outdoor track and field season.

"I look at this meet as a tremendous way to start the outdoor season," head coach Shantel Twiggs said. "It was a cold and windy day in Davis but the girls performed well.  It was a great effort."

Cristina Hibbert took first in the 400m hurdles with a PR time of 1:00.79 which was nearly two seconds faster than the second place finisher in the event.  Hibbert also finished fifth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.30.

Deborah Amoah finished second in the long jump with a jump of 5.62m and she also placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 11.83m which is fifth on Nevada's all-time list.

April Pate took sixth overall in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.41 while Mandy Russ finished ninth in the 1500m run with a time of 4:42.91.

In the pole vault Alicia Echaverria finished fourth with a jump of 3.50m (just three inches off her PR) while Casey Gray finished sixth with a PR jump of 3.50m.

Up next for Nevada is the UC Davis Classic on March 20.
