DENVER - Nevada designated hitter Brock Stassi has been named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week for February 15-21.
Stassi, a junior from Yuba City, Calif. (Yuba City HS), helped the Wolf Pack to a 2-1 record last week at Santa Clara. Stassi hit .818 (9-for-11) with six runs scored, a double, two home runs and five RBI in three games. In one stretch, Stassi had hits in six consecutive plate appearances. He finished with multiple hits all three games. On the weekend, he had a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .875 on base percentage.
