Nevada enters the 2010 season receiving votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 and the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 ... The Wolf Pack went 40-19 in 2009 and won the WAC Championship with a 15-5 mark ... Nevada concluded the 2009 season at the NCAA Regional in Palo Alto, Calif. ... The Wolf Pack was picked to finish second in this year’s Western Athletic Conference race ... Nevada had three players on the All-WAC first team in Katie Holverson, Sam Bias and Noelle Micka ... Holverson, last year’s WAC Pitcher of the Year, is on the initial watch list for the USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Award ... The Wolf Pack returns five position-player starters and both pitchers from last year ... This is the second season under head coach Matt Meuchel.
ABOUT THIS WEEK
Nevada begins the season against the toughest weekend of games on schedule this season as the Wolf Pack travels to the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. ... At the tournament, Nevada will play three ranked teams, another that is receiving votes and a perennially strong Pac-10 school ... Play begins Friday when the Pack opens against Oregon State before taking on defending national champion Washington ... On Saturday, Nevada will face a Texas A&M team that is receiving votes in both polls and No. 15/17 Northwestern ... Nevada will conclude play on Sunday when it takes on No. 6/4 Arizona.

There are multiple ways to follow Wolf Pack softball this year. Beginning this weekend and continuing through the season, every regular season game will feature an audio broadcast live on www.nevadawolfpack.com. For home games, an audio and video streaming product is planned this season. For more information, visit www.nevadawolfpack.com and select the “Multimedia” tab.
In addition, Live Stats will be available on the Website with game and season updates available on Facebook (Facebook.com/NevadaWolfPack) and Twitter (Twitter.com/NevadaWolfPack).
Last year, Wolf Pack radio debuted on the radio in Northern Nevada and a select number of games will again be broadcast this year. Nevada’s games from the Stanford Nike Invitational (Feb. 20-21) and The Preview (March 5-7) as well as the Pack’s series at New Mexico State will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM (KHIT). Nevada’s game in the WAC Tournament and any postseason games will also be carried.
