RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada rifle team opened its season with a 10 point victory over Jacksonville State Saturday.

Nevada shot a combined 4,602, with a 2,335 in the air rifle and a 2,267 in the small bore.  Jacksonville State's 4,592 was comprised of scores of 2,340 in the air rifle and 2,252 in the small bore.

Three Nevada shooters posted air rifle scores above 580, led by Dempster Christenson's 587.  Christenson also led all Pack shooters with a small bore score of 577.

Andrea Dardas shot an impressive 594, the highest individual score of the day, in the air rifle.

Nevada will shoot again Saturday, October 9 against UTEP in Reno.
