RENO, Nev. - The silver squad won the first game of the University of Nevada's Silver and Blue Series 4-0 on Monday morning.  Game two will be played at Peccole Park at 9:00 a.m. and is free and open to the public.

Tom Niebergall's single scored the first run in the bottom of the second inning to give the silver team a 1-0 lead.  They added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as Brock Stassi's single scored the first run of the inning and Hugo Hernandez' double plated the final two runs of the game.

Junior Jayson McClaren picked up the win pitching four shutout innings allowing just one hit, did not walk a batter and struck out three.  Tony Fagan tossed two scoreless innings and Tim Culligan pitched a perfect seventh as the trio combined on the 7-inning shutout.  Jeremy Cole was tagged with the loss for the blue team.
