RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada track and field team will compete against three other teams at the Boise State Duals Saturday in Nampa, Idaho.
Nevada will compete in the meet along with Boise State, Idaho State and Utah Valley. Events will begin at 9 a.m. with the women's high jump and weight throw. Field events will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the one-mile run.
"We are coming off a solid weekend in Seattle, Wash and we are looking to build some momentum this weekend and get a few more athletes in the fold," head coach Shantel Twiggs said. "The weekend's competition will feature a dual competition and this will be a great opportunity to see conference opponent Boise State and then put ourselves in a competitive position to perform. Some of our distance runners will be making their debut this weekend: middle distance runners Christy Works; transfer Jenifer McEntire and distance runners Janet Martinez and redshirt freshman Gloria Sosa. In the dual meet situation, each event matters and only the top two from each school score in each event. This will give us a closer look and understanding of where the team is not only individually but as a team. This should be another weekend field with personal/seasonal best."
The meet will be held at the Jacksons Indoor Track at the Idaho Center in Nampa.
