SACRAMENTO, Calif. Analisa Serrano ran the second-best time in program history in the 100m hurdles and Nicole Williams won the high jump for the second time this year at the Sacramento State Open Saturday. The meet was Nevada’s last regular-season meet of the year for the Pack.
Serrano again improved on her regional qualifying mark with a PR time of 13.75, which is the second best time in program history. Serrano also won the event.
“Analisa is having an amazing senior season,” head coach Shantel Twiggs said. “She is executing extremely well and she has more to give.”
The 4x100m relay team of Gina Deckard, Polly Smith, Regal Minyard, Analisa Serrano ran a time of 47.06.
“Our exchanges are crisp but not bad for our first time,” Twiggs said. “We are really confident right now it is showing in our training and our racing.”
Nicole Williams put together another regional qualifying mark 1.75m in the high jump and took first place.
“Nicole competes with such composure,” Twiggs said. “She truly has the potential to equal and break the school record.”
In the triple jump, La Tjiera Avery jumped 11.32m which moves her into one of the top eight sports on the WAC list.
“The day was filled with many personal best and we look to take this momentum into the WAC championships next weekend,” Twiggs said.
Nevada will compete at the WAC Championships May 13-16 at Utah State in Logan, Utah.
