RENO, Nev. Nevada senior outfielder Brittany Puzey was picked as the Most Valuable Player and led five Nevada players on the All-Tournament Team for the Wolf Pack Classic.
Puzey hit .667 for the week with four doubles, two home runs, seven runs and seven RBI. She recorded 18 total bases in 15 plate appearances with a 1.500 slugging percentage and a .733 on-base percentage as Nevada went undefeated over the weekend.
The Wolf Pack’s Noelle Micka was selected at catcher after hitting .385 for the tournament. Senior Kym Silagyi was picked at second base as she hit .500 with two doubles and two triples in four games. Sophomore Britton Murdock was picked along with Puzey for the outfield. She hit .538 with a pair of home runs. And junior pitcher Katie Holverson was one of two pitchers named to the team after going 3-1 with a save and a 2.19 ERA
Nevada had five players selected while Southern Utah had three players on team in first baseman Stephanie Lum, shortstop Aly Daniels and third baseman Darleen Fernandez. Pacific was represented by utility player Amanda Collier and pitcher Heidi Helberg and Oregon had outfielder Neena Bryant on the team. The team was selected in voting by the participating teams’ head coaches and sports information directors.
