RENO, Nev. (AP) - Brandon Gibson scored 16 points and hit a key 3-pointer with 39 seconds left to help Louisiana Tech beat Nevada 78-75 on Thursday at Lawlor Events Center.
Magnum Rolle added 15 points and Jamel Guyton 13 for the Bulldogs (9-14, 3-7 WAC).
Sophomore Armon Johnson had 27 points and freshman Luke Babbitt added 23 for the Wolf Pack (13-9, 6-3 WAC).
Johnson had given Nevada a 72-71 lead with 1:00 to play in a seesaw game that saw the lead change hands 13 times in the second half. But Gibson hit a long 3-pointer from the corner to put Louisiana Tech back on top 74-71.
Junior Brandon Fields missed a short jumper on the ensuing possession for the Wolf Pack, and Rolle was fouled after grabbing the rebound. He hit both free throws to put the Bulldogs up 76-72.
Johnson hit a 3-pointer with 8.6 seconds to play to pull Nevada to within a point, but James Loe iced the game with a pair of free throws with 5 seconds left.
