December 24-31

Dec. 24, 2005 - Making the school's first trip to the Hawaii Bowl and its first bowl appearance in 10 years, Nevada defeated Central Florida 49-48 in overtime. Nevada running backs B.J. Mitchell and Robert Hubbard both eclipsed 100 yards in the game, with Mitchell racking up 178 yards and Hubbard going for 123.  The two workhorses combined for five total touchdowns with two by Mitchell and three from Hubbard. Quarterback Jeff Rowe scored on a four-yard naked bootleg in overtime to lead Nevada to the win and spoil UCF's first ever bowl victory.

Dec. 30, 2008 - The Wolf Pack dropped a hard-fought 42-35 contest to the Maryland Terrapins in the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho. Da'Rel Scott, the Terps' senior running back, broke a 28-all tie with a 49-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter and scored again with 7:44 left to Maryland up by two scores. Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick brought the Wolf Pack within one score with a 15-yard TD run with 2:19 left, but Maryland recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock to quell Nevada. Kaepernick kept Nevada close, going 24-of-47 for a bowl-record 370 passing yards and three touchdowns.

Dec. 31, 2006 - A diving interception by Miami with 18 seconds left sent the Wolf Pack home with a 21-20 loss in the MPC Computers Bowl in Boise, Idaho. Brett Jaekle nailed four field goals in the game, including a 40- and a 44-yarder in the fourth quarter and Nevada had a first down at the Miami 36 in the final minute, but the Hurricanes' defensive heroics secured the victory.
