FRESNO, CALIF. - The University of Nevada women’s tennis team’s four-game winning streak came
to an end Saturday as the Wolf Pack fell to No. 16 Fresno State 6-1 at the Wathen Tennis Center.
Playing in the No. 1 singles spot was No. 14th-ranked Melanie Gloria and No. 59-ranked Maria Muzyuk.
Gloria defeated the sophomore Muzyuk 6-2, 6-0. In the No. 2 singles, junior Caroline Bailly defeated No. 21-
ranked Anastasia Petukhova in a three-set tie-breaker.
In doubles action, freshmen Florence De Vrye and Lais Ogata defeated the Bulldogs’ Danon Beatty and
Jacqueline Haskett in No. 3 doubles. Gloria teamed up with Tinesta Rowe against Mizyuk and Bailly in No.
1 doubles. Gloria and Rowe topped Mizyuk and Bailly in a second-set tie-breaker.
The Pack will conclude the three remaining regular season matches at home.
