WALNUT, Calif. Freshman Gina Deckard ran a personal best in the 100 meter hurdles while sophomore Constance McAlman tied her career best in the hammer throw Friday at the Mt. SAC meet at Hilmer Lodger Stadium in Walnut, Calif.
Deckard finished fourth and ran a 14.56 in the 100 meter hurdles, beating her previous personal best of 14.68 she ran at the Hornet Invite on March 22.
McAlman finished second in the hammer throw and tied her career best with a mark of 55.52m. She also recorded a throw of 55.52m at the Hornet Invite where she recorded a regional qualifying mark.
Senior and fellow thrower Inger Appanaitis recorded a second-place finish in the javelin (48.69m). Appanaitis recorded a regional qualifying mark in the javelin earlier this season at the Stanford Invite on April 5. Appanaitis also finished 10th in the shot put on Friday with a throw of 12.30m.
Junior Polly Smith placed 10th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.61 while freshman Samantha Davis ran a 4:39.28 in the 1500m.

A few student-athletes will compete at the Long Beach Invitational in Cerritos, Calif. tomorrow while the rest of the team will be competing at the Woody Wilson Invitational at UC Davis.
