RENO, Nev. The University of Nevada track and field team will complete in three meets this weekend, the Mt. SAC Relays, the Long Beach Invitational and the Woody Wilson Invitational.

Nevada will send a few representatives to the Mt. SAC Relays to compete on Friday, April 18.  The Pack will also have a few student-athletes competing at the Long Beach Invitational in Cerritos, Calif. on Saturday, April 19.  The rest of the team will be competing at the Woody Wilson Invitational at UC Davis on Saturday, April 19.

“We are really excited about this weekend’s competition, we will be sending a few representatives to the Mt. SAC relay and they will be competing on Friday and then again on Saturday at Cerritos College.  This is one of the best meets on the West Coast.  The athletes competing at Mt. SAC relays will see athletes from around the country and it will give them an opportunity to really see where we are at this time of the season,” head coach Shantel Twiggs said.  “The rest of the team will be fine tuning at UC Davis at the Woody Wilson Invitational and we should see again some very strong performance from both meets as gear up for the second half of the outdoor season.”

The Pack had the weekend of April 11-13 off.  Prior to last weekend, Nevada competed in the Stanford Invite on April 4-5 where senior thrower Inger Appanaitis recorded a regional qualifying mark in the javelin (46.90m).

Up next for the Pack is the Drake Relays April 23-26 in Des Moines, Iowa and the Brutus Hamilton Invitational April 25-26 in Berkeley, Calif.
