EUGENE, Ore. The Nevada women’s tennis team has five losses on the year and each of those losses has come by a 4-3 score.

But the Wolf Pack came out on the good end of a close decision when it beat Oregon 4-3 on Friday.

“I am very pleased with our effort,” third-year coach Sylvain Malroux said. “The girls have kept playing hard despite some of those tough losses. I think we are on the right path and this victory shows that.”

Nevada won the doubles point with victories from Maria Mizyuk and Caroline Bailly at No. 1 and from Florence De Vrye and Alice Hall at No. 3.

In singles play, Mizyuk won easily at the No. 1 spot. But Bailly fell at No. 2 and De Vrye lost at No. 3. However, Hall and Laetitia Tan won their matches (No. 4 and 5, respectively) in straight sets to clinch the victory.

Nevada will be back in action on Saturday against Sacramento State in Eugene.
